Gilbert has 16 years of experience in the insurance industry and is a member of the American Petroleum Institute of Corpus Christi. Gilbert coaches youth upward basketball at First Baptist Church and attends St. Helena Catholic Church.

Allstate exclusive agency owner Al Armadillo of The Al Armadillo Insurance Agency has been designated a Premier Service Agency for 2010.
